Hyderabad: A Basara IIIT student suicide was reported after a second-year engineering student was found dead in her hostel room on the campus in Nirmal district.
The deceased was identified as Vasantha, a native of Wanaparthy district. She was pursuing her second year of engineering at Basara IIIT. According to officials, hostel staff alerted the police after discovering her in the room.
Police reached the campus and shifted the body to Bhainsa hospital for postmortem examination. Subsequently, they informed her parents about the incident. The sudden death caused concern among students and staff on the campus.
Authorities registered a case and launched an investigation into the Basara IIIT student suicide. They began questioning her classmates and hostel mates to ascertain the reasons behind the extreme step.

Police deployed heavy security outside Bhainsa hospital as the body was kept for postmortem. Meanwhile, officers continued to examine the circumstances that led to the suicide.
