Hyderabad: During the ongoing Operation Smile XII programme, M.Srinivasulu, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Hyderabad, conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Boys Home at Saidabad on Monday to review child welfare arrangements.
During the visit, the officer inspected the premises and interacted with 27 children housed at the institution, including several rescued under Operation Smile XII. He verified facilities provided to the children, such as food, education, medical care, and accommodation, and reviewed overall safety and welfare standards.
The Additional Commissioner issued instructions to the home’s management to ensure that all basic amenities were provided strictly as per prescribed norms. He directed Superintendent Krishnaveni and Rajanna to continue focused care, protection, and rehabilitation of the children.
Operation Smile XII stresses monitoring of child care institutions
The inspection under this Operation highlighted the importance of regular monitoring of child care institutions and effective implementation of child rescue and rehabilitation programmes in Hyderabad city.
Officials present during the inspection included P. Lavanya Naik Jadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women Safety Wing, Hyderabad; Kum. Sumalatha, Coordinator, Balrakshak Bhavan; Srinivas, District Child Protection Officer, Hyderabad; and Vijay Bhaskar, In-charge of Child Protection, Hyderabad.
Officials reiterated that this Operation aimed to ensure the safety, care, and long-term rehabilitation of rescued children through coordinated action by police and child welfare agencies.
