Hyderabad police issue notices to malls and lodges on women’s safety

Hyderabad: The police department has issued notices to more than 100 shopping malls and lodges across Hyderabad as part of a special drive to strengthen Women’s safety measures in the city. The initiative focuses on improving security standards and preventing offences against women.

Police directed establishments to give priority to women’s safety in trial rooms and rest rooms. They also instructed managements to appoint a customer safety in-charge at every mall and use hidden camera detection devices to identify any suspicious surveillance equipment.

Women’s safety measures include inspections and staff verification

Police ordered shopping malls and lodges to conduct regular inspections and maintain proper records of safety checks. Owners have also been instructed to immediately inform the police if any suspicious devices are found on their premises.

In addition, the department advised managements to complete employee verification and conduct awareness programmes for staff on women’s safety protocols. Police warned that strict action would be taken against establishments that fail to comply with the prescribed safety guidelines.
